Daily Chew is a café and catering company creating simple, seasonal, and nourishing culinary experiences. Whether you’re stopping by the café for morning coffee and breakfast or hosting a catered gathering in your home or our event space, you can expect fine-dining–level food and service in a relaxed, welcoming environment—without the frills.
Born Jewish in South Africa and raised in Atlanta, Julia’s roots deeply inform the menu. She grew up cooking alongside her grandmother and father, and those flavors remain a constant thread in her work—paired with a strong emphasis on Georgia-grown ingredients.
Julia’s grandmother, Annette Kesler, is her greatest culinary influence. Annette authored her own cookbooks and spent 31 years as a food writer and editor in Cape Town, South Africa. Her legacy continues to inspire Julia’s approach to food every day.
Daily Chew is the physical expression of Julia’s passions and experience—designed as a space to build community around nourishing food that supports both people and the planet.
When she’s not at Daily Chew, you’ll likely find Julia with her husband, Nick, and their sons, walking through Piedmont Park or eating their way along Buford Highway.

We are a bootstrapped, women-owned and operated small business. Daily Chew grew out of Julia’s first brand, Stop Think Chew, which continues today as our line of prepared foods and provisions. We work directly with farmers and artisans across Georgia to bring thoughtful, delicious meals to your table while supporting both the community and the planet.

Layla Walk
Director of Operations + Partner
2022, Layla became partner as she has worked tirelessly to build systems and structure in this evolving business. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, she worked around the world from New York to Australia. Since landing back in Atlanta, she has opened restaurants across the city- including No.246, King + Duke, The Optimist, Abbatoir, Freds and Yalla, Muchacho and more. When she is not with the Chew Crew, Layla is operating her strategic hospitality consulting company and ramping up to launch a beverage company, both with her partner Cole Just.
Galdino Peleaz
Head Chef
After 5 Years with the Chew Crew, he is now Daily Chew's Head Chef. With 20+ years experience in Atlanta's finest restaurants and teaching some of the top Chefs, he now runs our kitchen with precision and creating beautifully delicious dishes and bountiful catering. When not with the Chew Crew, Galdino is with his kids playing and watching soccer.

Jeonghun Lee
Jeoghun is a dedicated coffee professional with four years of experience in the industry. He is passionate about crafting the perfect diner coffee and specialty drinks that consistently delight customers. He is also committed to training new baristas, emphasizing bar flow and efficiency to ensure a seamless operation.
